Well i have posted before and have been getting a little concerned over the last couple of nights.

Ashley gets a lot of wind and i have been givingher 10 drops of infants friend maybe 2 or 3 times at night (say 6pm, 12am and 4am). She has huge explosive yellow poos - you hear it pop and squirt from across the room - sorry tmi!. i tried not to give it one night and she seems to cry in so much pain.

Anyhoe during the day she is sleeping some days (awake a lot others). But her cry has changed, it is very dry and high pitched now - almost like she cant breathe. i had a little listen to her chest and her lungs sound fine, clear with equal air entry.

During the day i will carry her in the sling and put her down to sleep on her back and she sleeps without a sound! But at night between say 10pm-7am when she sleeps you can hear her strain, and hold her breath until she goes purple/red and arches her back and flings her limbs around (if we swaddle her she screams cause she wants to kick her legs and arms). The sound she makes is so painful and like she cant breathe- and this can carry on for up to an hour post feed . She is also not feeding as long at night - perhaps 5-10 minutes every 3-4 hours.

I just dont know why she carrys on like that at night but not during the day. Would it b because it is colder? we have her in a long sleeve onesie, a fleecy lined romper then a bunny rug over her. Her little hands are like ice even with mittens on.

we have her 6 week check up coming up but i am worried there might be something wrong and get scared she will hold her breath too long one night. Should i see someone sooner or is this normal for newborns behaviour to change from day to night?

thanks any help or advice is appreciated!
