My girls are 12 months apart and while I absolutely love the age gap now, I found the first 18 odd months pure hell. Granted, DD2 had medical issues that made her an extremely difficult baby to deal with, but DD1 was the most easy going, happy toddler so they balanced each other out a little. I found it extremely difficult to be pregnant while caring for a baby at the same time. I had a lot of guilt at the amount of time I could no longer spend with DD1 when she was still effectively a baby herself because I had to devote so much time to my newborn.

I think a lot of the enjoyment of a small age gap comes down to the nature of the babies that you have. I know there are plenty of ladies on BB with bubs close together that absolutely love it. Just be aware that it can be the other end of the spectrum too.
