I'm not worried about the chlorine damaging the beads - more the thread that it's on - if that makes sense

DD's hasn't come off since she started wearing it at 5 months. Not for sleeping, not for bathing/swimming. The around the ankle for sleeping thing seemed a bit pointless/a PITA to me - and there's no way it would have wrapped around enough times to stay on comfortably.
eta - the only time it has come off was when the string broke. Funny, it was the amberbebe one that broke, but the ebay job we replaced it with is still going strong.
DS's had his since around 3 months. I think it was around a month after that I just left it on while sleeping (used to put it around his ankle), was a bit paranoid for a week or so but that wore off :)
I was a bit paranoid with DD1 at first and put it around her ankle for sleeping but soon gave up on that because it was annoying. So now they just both stay on. With DD2 if she's wearing a wondersuit to be I will just put it through the top button to keep it down ITMS.
Another one who put them on at 4 months and hasn't taken them off. For baths or swimming or anything. When she's at CC they take it off for sleep time, but put it back on as soon as she wakes. It's their rule so we just go with it. Go with your gut on how you feel about it.
With DD we leave the necklace around her neck for day sleeps, but wrapped it around her ankle (under a sock usually) for the night. This is what we did with DS too, until he got to about 18 months, then we just left it round his neck all the time.
I got a set (necklace and bracelet) for DD when she was 5-6 months old and I was worried initially about leaving it on her. She was wrapped though for her naps right up until 13 months old and considering there was nothing in her cot I could not understand HOW she could get it into a "dangerous" type situation ... it was always tucked snuggly under her clothes and there was nothing for it to snare on.
I believe people who sell these types of products put a warning on, JIC there is an accidental death therefore protecting their business etc .... when I had my little hair clip business going I decided to pop a warning on my hair clip cards to protect myself ITMS?
You need to decide what you are comfortable with and go with that.
I plan on getting another one for this little tummybunny when she pops and will probably have her in it from 3 months of age without taking off her.
Nae x x
I've left Gabriel's on since I talked to Boomba a week or two ago and he's been fine :)
Just quickly.
DD got hers at 10 months, and I wished i'd got it earlier. It's never ever been taken off. We love them. :)
DD has had hers on since she was about 6 weeks :)
coke :o OK back on topic.... ds has been wearing his since about 2 months and he has always had it on at night. I only take it off at bath time.
I hardly take Amelia's off - only when she's going in water, because the thread can be weakened...
Sent from my iPhone so forgive the speelung misstacks ;)
DH and Grandma always take DS's off him :(
I got tired of putting it back on so gave in and now it's lost!
I didn't know about them with ds1 but both ds2 and dd have worn them since 5 months old. Never have any problems, they only come off for swimming.
Well I decided to leave it on, and for night sleeps loop it through her first press stud on her suits (THANKYOU to whoever suggested that, genius!). I probably won't even worry about that soon, but seeing as she's going 7-10 hours overnight atm I just want to be sure she's cool with it. I bought one for myself too, I love it.
Thankyou sooooo much for your feedback ladies, it's what I needed to hear :)
we had daycare take it off i just asked them to leave it on no issues they were more worried about the dummy to be honest lol
jazzy has hers on 24/7
DD has had hers since 10 weeks and we never take it off. I just tuck it under her clothes or whatever and it's never been a problem. She's never even played with it.
In saying that, I got her a smaller sized one so she could never slip her hand through it or catch it on anything.
I positively swear by her amber necklace, not to mention they are oh so cute!!!
