    They do take up more space than a bassinet but not by much. The thing for me though is I need space for it to be able to swing back and forward and that's where you need slightly more space. To help give you the visual in my spare room the bed is in the middle of the wall and there is enough space left on each side to fit a small bedside cabinet. My bassinet could fit down the side of the bed but the Amby couldn't. I just put him at the foot of the bed instead if I was in that room as I still have to get up to get him out so a few extra steps didn't bother me. I highly recommend the Amby though so if you can make it fit you won't regret getting one.

    i bounce more than swing, so for me the footprint of the amby frame was the biggest part.
