Wink Anybody use the bumbo baby seat

Any body use the bumbo baby seat and recommend it?
I'm looking into buying one for izzy coz she likes to sit up right (dosn't like sitting in her $100 rocker chair coz it too laid back)...
    Are these chairs any good?
What about the safety aspect? can they fall out? hurt them in any way???

In Advance -Thanks for your input~!

We have one, Kirsten isn't too keen on it as she can't reach her toys or feet, so she constantly is stooped over.

I think they are recommended for 4 months plus though, although Izzy sounds very strong.

It seems safe although you aren't supposed to use it on a high surface as they can apparently topple over.

CASS i would be worried about using it on such a young bub!! probably not the best for her spine, babies shouldnt be encourages to sit, they will do it on their own in their own time

I've been told by an OT that they shouldn't be in there for long periods before they can sit on their own as it stops them from developing a sense of balance.
Having said that, I have friends who had a bumbo for their babies because they had them close together and needed it for logistic reasons, LOL. The two kids who were in there had no problems sitting and walking...
They're probably like anything - great if you don't over-use them.

Wouldn't use it for a bubba under 4 months myself. We have one. I think it was not anything more than "ok". It's really only useful for a short time (for us only a couple of months). The baby must be able to hold his/her head completely unsupported before they can go in it. We were told it was suitable up to 12 months. However once bubbas can sit on their own, they are not keen to be in there. So for us it was really only good for a short time. Gussy is a Mr Independent and would get really frustrated at being "trapped" in one place at quite a young age. But that was the same with our rocker chair. He preferred the Bumbo to the rocker. But overall his preference was to be playing on the floor.

Yep- we use it for Sophie - best thing we've ever bought....its portable - we can take it wherever we go. These days coz she's more mobile i will only feed her in it , i wouldnt sit her in it and read her a book or anything....
The only negative is.....its looks like a potty and we often get weird looks when we arrive at someones house and they see DH carrying the bumbo...we have to quickly inform them 'no, we didnt bring our own potty, its a bumbo !!!'....
