I totally understand all these frustrations. My mum only BF me and my brothers for a few weeks so at about 6weeks she would ask " Are you feeding him still" My comment was " No I am letting him starve, of course I am feeding him, Am I BF, yes".
Of course the fact he isn't sleeping through the night (waking 3hourly atm ) and was really unsettled one night and wouldn't go to sleep when she was on the phone I got " Is he hungry?, maybe you need to feed him more ?". I just kept saying if he doesn't want the boob when I rub the nipple over his lips I don't think he wants any more.
I have learnt the hard way the less information you give anyone the better
