today DD has been really unsettled, when she isn't sleeping or feeding she cries, and not a little "boo hoo" cry it's a full on, scream at the top of my lungs cry! She is FF but has been really fussy with bottles..lately she has been having roughly 120ml every 2 to 2 1/2 hours, today she seems to want to feed every 1 to 1 1/2 hours but only gets through about 60 ml before she needs a burp and falls asleep. I don't know if we are just having a rough day that is a once-off or if there is something really bothering her or something i'm doing/not doing... i just hate her crying like that and not being able to do anything for her! she has her 6 week checkup in a couple of hours so hopefully she will be good for that, but that means it is needle time so will probably be even more unsettled!
My son (almost 5 wks) has a few moments like that too - its like he doesn't know what he wants either lol. Most times I deal with it by putting him on his play mat, on his back and give him the chance to stretch and do some baby kung fu with the floating toys in the air . That usually tires him out and stops the crying too.
Aw, big hugs to you and your DD. It's a good thing you have your appt - they can check her out. But sometimes I think you just have those days Every now and again here Phoebe just wants to be cuddled and every time I even think about putting her down she starts crying. Only sleeps for 20-40 mins at a time, doesn't feed well, etc etc.
You are doing really well, you know. Sometimes they just have their off-days. Hang in there, mate. I hope the needles are ok for you both.
You are doing so well. At around 1 month my little girl also did a lot of crying during feeds. She wasn't feeding as well and would fall asleep because she was exhausted from her frustration but then would wake because she was still hungry. I later discovered that teat was wrong. We had to up it to teat number 2.
Hope this helps you in finding our a solution for you daughter. It is hard being a mum... I don't mind the crying but could never rest until I find out what is causing the crying.
Could it be a wonder week? I used to have a wicked wonder week timetable for DS1, but I lost it and would really like it for DS2. Maybe she'll come out of it with a new skill.
i was going to suggest a wonder week as well - i think they say around 8 weeks but i know we had a very unsettled week around 6-7 weeks - DS wanting to feed constantly, cranky pants etc. it did pass - well, he still gets grizzly etc but it's not like it was!!
aww hon it's awful when they get like that isn't it. I would say a wonder week too. our bubba was born at 42 +2 and so has her WW a bit early.
Sometimes when nothing else worked i gave her a dose of panadol ( u can give it from 1month old) and that settled her long enough for her to sleep and consequently i don't think she ever really got over tired.
Good luck mate and remember they pick up on your stress so take a deep breath drop your shoulders calm yourself and then help her calm herself
Awwww Hugs - its tough isn't it when they are upset. There is a wonder week at week 5 and 8, but she could be early or late..
My DS had terrible wind (even though we could get some burps out) from about week 6-12 and used to scream/cry in pain, like your describing, the old bicycle legs and wind drops really helped, maybe try that, its one thing to eliminate?
