it's currently $4133 - it may go up by a small amount in September (last increase was only $33) - but it doesn't go up to $5000 until July 2008

The report about the $5000, I think might have been due to a misinterpretation by the media, around the time they announced that under 18's would have ft payments rather than a lump sum. They happened to mention the increase as of july 08 and the media reported the ft payments and the increase would all happen july 07.

annoying though, I got more than 4133 in the lump sum, but I think some of it was parenting payments etc, and I am patiently waiting to see just how much cent relink will give us each fortnight now.

oh an according to the family assist website it indexes in sept and march each year. so there will be 2 really small increases before next july.

Rebecca, if you call them or log into the website, it should tell you how much you can expect to be paid each fortnight in family assistance.

the online was still just an estimate, but the paper work came in the mail not long after. a big whopping $144 per fortnight, it's a far cry from the $930 i'm used to, oh well, i got a gorgeous boy now

Wow 9 weeks is ridiculous, i'd be screaming at them until they sorted it out.

We received ours 3 days after the forms where handed in.
