Baby is outgrowing baby bath at an alarming rate...

Ladies i need your advice/ideas....

My little girl is almost three months and has just about outgrown her baby bath. She obviously can't sit up yet on her own, and i'm in a bit of a pickle. The problem is (isn't that we don't have a bath already)rather our bath is a large triangular spa shaped one and so takes a fair bit of water to get even a little bit full.

I know that my mum is getting one of those bath seats (but its recommended for 6months+) and will be of use only when bubs can sit up on her own. How should i go about bathing her? Bath time is at night, and hubby doesn't get home until late so i can't even have a shower and get DH to pass her to me.

In the current times of water restrictions, and water consumption per household, i can't justify running a bath for her every night (when she is only laying there for a couple of minutes and not being able to play)...Any ideas or tips would be really helpfull!!!!

Hopefully this makes a bit of sense to someone!...

Can you get a bath recliner. We used this for DD form birth. It was kind of like a towelling sheet over a metal frame and with a little pillow for the head. About $15 from baby shops, target, etc.

Also what about hopping in the bath with your baby girl? I did this alot. If there are two of you around it is much easier as one can be in the bath and when its time for baby to get out the other one can come and get them and dry them and dress them.

Maybe a bigger baby bath? Not sure about the one that you have but we started with a fancy Fisher Price one that had all the bells and whistles, only to realise the same as you, she was too long for it after a short period!

So we got a very basic one that's just a bath, no attachments, but it is longer and she still fits in it now (10 months!).

I bathed with my kids, or use your laundry sink
Even a decent sized bucket.
I never bought a baby bath, or baby seat... they just don't last long enough for my liking

I second the laundry sink I don't even have a baby bath any more....

ETA Raven, I have B in the laundry sink from day dot.

I would try a bigger bath too- we got one from Target for like $12 and he fit in it until he was ready to sit up. In fact, we still use it for him- he sits up in it and it uses soooo much less water.

Laundry trough or kitchen sink? Both would involve having her sit up though...
