Just wondering if anyone could give me some advice on how to get my DD to sleep in her cot in her own room. DD is five months old and has been sleeping in her basinett in our room. DH and I are thinking of getting her to sleep in her own room when she is about six months old. DD is growing fast and won't fit in the basinett for much longer. The thing is I have no idea how to start the transition from her basinett to her cot. She still wants to be swaddled when we tuck her in for the night although arms will be sticking out sometime during the night . She's started to sleep in a sleeping bag but still won't let go of the swaddling yet. That raises another question - do we still swaddle her when she sleeps in her cot? When we first used the sleeping bag a few weeks ago, we skipped the swaddling. She could not settle down, turning and tossing and very restless. When I swaddled her she went to sleep almost straightaway. Any suggestion would be more than welcome!
