I moved DS into a cot at about the same age. I was worried about it, but one day I just put him down in his cot for a day sleep - and he slept no problems whatsoever. He never went back in the bassinet! Not long after we moved him into his own room - again, I worried, but he adjusted just fine (me on the other hand spent the whole night worrying about him, lol).
More recently we moved DS (who is now 2 btw) from his cot to his bed. I was worried about this transition, but he was fine again.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, sometimes we're worrying over nothing!

Thanks for the tips. Will try it and let you know the outcome. And you're right. Mummy here feels a bit heavy hearted about not having DD in the same room. I wake up a few times at night to check on her or just to stare and admire her .

I had more troubles adjusting then DD1 ever did. I, like the others started with day sleeps. DD1 liked to be swaddled too, I just stared wrapping her losely every sleep and then she eventually got use to the wrap not been tight, then it was easy to just tuck her in or put the sleeping bag on her.

With DS, I actually just went cold turkey. And it didn't make his sleep anyworse...then again, it was pretty bad already so it possibly couldn't have gotten worse

    Good luck!

Like Sterla, we just put DS into his cot one day for a day sleep & had no problems so he never went back to the bassinet. We transferred him to his own room at around 8 months & I didn't sleep much that first night but he slept 12hours! I think DH was probably waking him up sometimes in our room with his terrible snoring lol, we've never looked back. Good luck!
