What I do is place dd in the cot for her day sleeps, that way she isn't going into a huge unknown space out of nowhere or maybe put the bassinet in the cot while she sleeps
The main thing is the openness of the cot compared to the snuggly bassinet
I often had problems with my ds's due to the wide open space but I did these things and it was easy
