We used to put a bath mat down and then fold up a large towel and put that on the bottom of the bath and lie her head on it...we still leant over the bath as didn't trust that she wouldn't roll over (and that never went down well!), but it was much easier on our backs than having to hold her the whole time. Bath seats are good too...if you want to go out and buy another baby product!
