    Gift for OB

I'm trying to think of a slightly unique gift to give my OB for a job well done. I'm going to give the standard photo of bub but was thinking of putting a gift bag/basket together for him and his staff.

I am going to include some nice chocolate, maybe other sweet things like honey etc but wondering about some good ideas for other things. Want him to enjoy it but also be something there to share with his staff. I have already given the midwife who helped in delivery plus 2 LC's at the hospital and also our nursery attendant some chocolates (Did this when we discharged from hospital) but trying to think of something special for OB.

Any suggestions on types of things I could put in there???

I read a recent story about a pead refusing a gift from the parents of a patient he was treating.
Said he was uncomfortable accepting it.

I would maybe stick with something that is for him & his staff to share so he doesn't possible feel the same as this pead. After all he was just doing his job. Being paid for his service should be thanks enough.

But good on you for wanting to do something nice.

What a lovely idea snowchickie. I gave my OB some cheese (My mil flew over from King island and bought a couple of big wheels of brie and camembert) and a nice bottle of wine.

My baby was gift enough for me, i didn't need any other treats!

I gave my ob a 4x4 vacation in the Kalahari

Seriously ... I feel that I pay good money for him to deliver my babies ... it was HIS JOB to do it, he got PAID to do it. I did not give a gift, but I did send a card, to the practice, that I wrote in my own handwriting (no typing) to thank him for his excellent service, thank his staff for their support and to comment on his great bedside manner.

.... Still .. got no discount

ETA ... I send a card to the maternity ward also .. thanking them for their services. AND I left one of my HUGE flowerarrangements for their reception desk.

OMG i must be too generous
We gave our OB really good pen a and a bottle of Moet Chandon and for FS a Pen as well and a bottle of Grandfather port
We got all the nurses from SCN a big basket of chocs from The Chocolatier.
It cost us over $300 each, but they all went beyond the call and either created our babies lives or saved our babies lives. Our twins births and pg were difficult and touch and go so many times- we were just so grateful for having such beautiful and skilled people working with us to bring our babies home, we felt that we just wanted to give them a token of what it meant to us
Although we paid for the knowledge and skill, their kindness, compassion and understanding went far beyond what was expected- and very much appreciated.
