your plan is exactly what we do

99% of the time it works perfectly. sometimes there are shenanigans, but nothing so dramatic that it questions the arrangement ITMS. Now that DD2 is getting older she is starting to go down at the same time as DD1. and DD1 goes to sleep while i give DD2 boob in the room...and voila!

(ps. i like that they have eachother to wake up to in the morning...)

My boys share a room and this begun when they were 3 & 18 months. By this stage DS2 didn't need me to get to sleep so once it was bed time we read stories and then hopped into bed. In those early months DS2 more so crawled everywhere rather than did much listening but he stayed in the room. Sharing has never been an issue for us. They both sleep perfectly together and if one ever wakes it does not disturb the other. And as Cassius2 says it is lovely that they get to fall asleep and wake up together.

I think your plan sounds pretty good, it may take some settling into but i'm sure it'll work for you

My 2 have shared a room for 2 years now and our routine is still the same.

Bath, pj's together and then DD2 goes to bed between 7 and 7.30. She has 2 books and chooses her bedtime music from the iPod. She goes to sleep. DD1 does her homework reading from school while this happens and gets to sit with DP & I to have some time debriefing about her day. She goes to bed around 8pm and chooses her bedtime music from the iPod (DD2 will be asleep and her music finished by then).
