Thanks for the replies, sounds like I am on the right track. DD is used to sharing with her grandparents when they come to stay (my mum comes for extended periods 8 weeks or so sometimes) and likes that, and seems excited by prospect of sharing with DS. If it doesn't work he can come back in with us and try again when he is older, have not found having his cot in our room as much of an issue as thought I would. For those that share have they been doing day naps together? DD does not always have hers, but currently DS and I tend to nap when she does on my bed (sometimes she likes hers in his cot) but as he is rolling now and I don't always want to nap with him will start putting in cot, which will then be in her/their room.

with napping DD1 would sleep in her room and DD2 would sleep on our bed (we have a low set futon though lol). DD1 doesnt have naps anymore and stopped about 3ish months after DD2 was born...

DD2 now naps in their room and i tell DD1 to get any toys that she might want to play with out of the room before DD2 goes to sleep. works a treat.
