Smile Best book for 1 year olds?

    hi all,

I've read and re-read my Baby Love book and am now looking for the next stage book. Is the "Mighty Toddler" (also by Robin Barker) the best book or can anyone recommend any other books that will help me through the 1 -2 year stage?

    Many thanks
    CC

I've got 'the mighty toddler'. I've found it helpful in some parts and hopeless in others. I hated 'what to expect-the toddler years' it was so prescriptive and harsh and the authoer seemed to have no concept that what suits one family mightn't fit another. It was really one-size-fits-all.
An author I love on child-raising is Steve Biddulph. 'Secrets of Happy Children' and 'More Secrets of Happy Children' are both fantastic texts and the principals are applicable to toddlers as well as older children. You could get copies on ebay. They look kind of daggy like 70's school texts but don't be fooled by the cover. We also have 'Raising Boys' which is amazing and I think that he has collaberated with his wife to write Raising Girls as well. If its as good as the boy version it's worth buying.
    HTH.

I have found The Mighty Toddler to be helpful as a reference. I haven't read it cover to cover though. If you decide to buy it, try Big W and Target first, as they are usually cheaper there. I got mine at Target.

dachlostar, thanks for reminding me to read my copy of 'Raising Girls'!!!
