That is actually a good point. I used to always play with my nephew and nibble him and then he started biting around 2yo.
I just taught him "gentle biting" which he got the hang of and said he can only gentle bite me! Now he's grown out of it.
I don't like the sound of it, but I have to admit, it seems to work for some kids. My youngest nephew (2) was a biter, especially biting his brother (3 1/2) because the rest of us knew the warning signs and would stop it. One day my sister (not their Mum) bit him on the arm after he bit his brother, fairly gently but enough to make him realise that it hurts. He's never done it again thankfully! I think some kids only learn through experience.
