So earlier today I was out on some much needed time on my own when I get a hysterical call from DH who said Peter was bleeding from his eye! After completely freaking out, we worked out he wasn't bleeding FROM his eye, but NEAR his eye- big difference! The poor mite had been toddling about with a board book, tripped over and landed face first on the corner of the book.
He's given himself a nice cut and graze a little bit below his eye and scratches around the upper and lower eyelids. They have swollen during the day and the bruising has started to come out- I am pretty sure he will wake up with a nice shiner tomorrow. It was impossible to get anything cool onto his eye to stop the swelling unfortunately.
I don't really think there is much I can do, but just after any anything I might be missing if anyone has BTDT? His actual eye seems fine, thank God, not even any broken vessels or anything, so I'm not concerned about that.
It probably looks worse than it is- looks like he's been in a pub brawl!!
DD fell on the corner of the coffee table some time back and earned a black eye but we didn't do anything. The only thing that bothered me (other than rude comments from strangers or 'jokes') was that it took ages to go away- like weeks! But it was nothing compared to the cut on the eylid of the other eye she got a few weeks later from the same coffee table- she still has the scar despite a GP visit and butterfly stitches. So there's really not much one can do about bruising- other than giving arnica homeopathics??
there is some bruise cream u can get from the chemist. Not sure if hes allowed to use it tho??? i got some after i had Mia from a doc trying to take blood while i was contracting. needless to say, i pulled away (as u dont have much control over your body) and left a huge black bruise. using this stuff, went about in about 5 days. And it was black.. i mean black.
either that.. or... do nothing. Personally i would just leave it, unless he is REALLY bothered by it. If he is.. mayb just get it checked out by his GP? or on a sunday.. the ed.
