Blowing food back in my face.. HELP!

Chelsea for the last 2 weeks has taken to opening her mouth for food, taking it off the spoon, looks at me, smiles then blows it back at me.

Whilst its funny the first few times....but after being hit 4 or so times its no longer a game nor funny to me. Im sick of getting sprayed with yoghurt and the like!

I tell her NO in a stern voice and take her food away. Wait 5 mins then try again...only to repeat the same thing.

How can i stop her from doing this or am i doing something wrong??

Kim, this is really hard to do, but the secret is not to react the first time. Of course we all do, but try not to react when it happens. Usually that would be enough and when they get no reaction the novelty usually wears off pretty quickly. Because it is still going after 2 weeks, I would probably try saying "no" or "don't" then taking the food away, getting her out of her chair and finishing the meal. A couple of times doing that should stop her. She won't starve, if she was hungry she'd eat it. If she seems hungry you can try again in an hour or so. Long enough to get the message across. It has to be clear to her that it's not acceptable. Her behaviour will likely deteriorate when the bub arrives, so I would try and get this resolved first. Good luck with it - aren't they fun sometimes!! It's laughing at it the first time that's a killer!

Jesse went through a stage of this too.. a girlfriend's son is doing it now too.. i think its just a stage to be honest. Another new thing theyre learning they can do. Maybe you can distract her with something else? Alot of people arent fans of the tv but maybe a cartoon? or something for her to play with in her hands that doesnt matter if it gets messy, like a bath toy? But otherwise i dont think theres much you can do i dont think, except just wear it and like Melanie suggested just ignore it. She'll grow out of it soon.

Archie did the same thing at that age, i just tried my hardest to have no reaction and if he did it more than once i would just walk away and take the food away til he got upset then id give him ome more, i just kept doing this and he got the message really quickly. GL it is quite frustrating isnt it
