Brag Page: What Do You Love About Your DD/DS's Personality?

I'd like to start a brag thread where we talk about what we love about our children's personalities because well, I want to have an outlet to brag about my DD! Not very honourable motives, I know.

22-month-old DD is a constant delight. She is extremely happy and mega-outgoing. She's also very active and very determined which do create some issues for me but I think are positives for her.

So in the years to come, these are the things I want to remember about DD:

1. We went to storytime at the library for the first time yesterday. Once she got used to the enormous amount of babies/toddlers/parents there, she started doing her social rounds. Ignored the story man but went around showing people her new shoes, started handing books around and plonked herself on a beanbag next to a mum and two children she'd never met before. There was a bit of dance at the end and DD was so proud of herself that she clapped herself and started laughing at the top of her voice. The room was slient apart from DD's laughter.

2. When she was much younger (maybe 14 months old) she came down the slide at the park, saw an old man she'd never met before, waved to him and because he waved back she hunted him down and started running after him.

3. She loves interacting with people. Last night we had a bloke around to design some BIR wardrobes for us. She saw him drawing with a pencil on graph paper and then went off and came back and handed him a crayon.

4. She loves dancing and if we go to a cafe or a shop with music she just dances in the middle of the joint completely unprompted. Then of course people laugh and she laughs right back.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh ... gotta love that DD. She makes life very interesting.

I love that my 14 month old is very confident and I think that comes from being at FDC with children who are a bit older than her (2-3 year olds).

I love how social DD is becoming, she will sing "twinkle twinkle little star", tries to do hand actions to other songs, has just started counting to 10!

I love that she's now starting to answer yes/no questions with a nod or shake of the head, although it's often not the right action, but at least she knows that it's one of them.

I love that she kisses and hugs us now, even though it's a sloppy kiss and a rough hug!

I really love how she "helps" Like handing me my shoes when she sees me putting on my socks, but if there are other shoes around the place she'll keep handing me shoes even if they aren't mine and even if mine are already on...I only have 2 feet, not 4 or more! LOL

I really love that she can walk which makes it easier when we are getting out of the car into the house when I have lots of things to carry. And it makes her happier when we're at the shops because she doesn't always have to be in the pram/trolley or being held.

And I really love that she's finally putting herself to sleep at night and will usually sleep for 10-12 hours overnight! That's so valuable especially considering both DH & I work full time!

Lovely idea for a thread, I am more than happy to brag about DD and to read other mothers gushing about thier LOs.

I love my DDs calmness and independnce.

I can be busy, reading the paper, doing some work, sitting on the computer and she will wander around the room keeping herself entertained for hours. Every now and again she might come over to me to say hi or interact with me in some way but generally she is happy pottering. She has always been like this, happy in her own company since day one. I love having time to myself while she happily plays and love watching her.

This is terrible but I really like the way DD cannot be told

Like when her brother declares her silly, stupid etc (which he does often cos he is horrible..), she doesn't cry or get sad, she just says "oh no I'm not" and skips away.

I also think its funny that she doesn't retaliate when DS takes toys away from her or won't let her play with his trucks...... because she doesn't make a big deal, will go and play with something else, but not before she has put one of his toys in the bin when he isn't looking

what i love most about DS's personality? even at 13 weeks he's a bull headed and strong willed as his mum but a thinker like this dad...and just...a strong little man!

Back again to add that DP took DD to storytime today but she didn't hear much of the stories .. apparently was too fascinated with running off and then up and down the wheelchair ramp!

Then when it got to drawing time, she found the big container of crayons and started taking them to all the children and refused to sit down to do any drawing herself!

But at least she's exhausted herself and she's having a big sleep now. As is DP I think.

Love this idea!! I love to brag about DD but I dont want ppl to get cheesed off!!

Bella is THE HAPPIEST baby! She rarely cries and if she does then I know she is eaither REALLY over tiered or in pain.
I love that she can play on her play matt and entertain her self while I do some house work and I love that while I am doing it I can hear her cracking herslef up and squeeling with delight!

I love that she know her own mind already (remind me I said that when she is 2!!) if she wants no more bottle / solids then she clamps that little mouth shut or pushes the bottle out and gives me the look like - enough is enough!!

I love that she smiles ALL day.. ppl notice and say things like - gee if she smiles any more then her face will crack!!

Ahh heck I just LOVE eveything about my independant, funny and oh so happy bub!!

I love that B always has a smile on her face, and that everywhere we go ppl always comment on what a happy baby she is!
I love that she said MUM MUM first (hehehe)
I love that she dosent like me out of her sight all thought at times it does drive me nuts!
And i love hearing how advanced she is for her age - yes i know all baby's are different and they do things at different ages etc.... but i feel B is pretty smart, and it makes me feel that all that time i spend with her is worth every second just to see how far she has gotten in such a short time!

Kate - B is the same in knowing her own mind etc and does the clamping mth shut thing with her bottle also - there is no making B do something when she dosent want to do it! so yeah i will remind u on what u said when ur lil girl is 2 if u do the same for me! hehehe

Top idea for a thread Fiona. Something well worth returning to when I'm in cranky mummy mode.

I love that Darcy is the kindest most thoughtful and generous little girl. She shares without prompting and gets upset when stuff is on the floor at a shop and puts it back on the rack.
She is so fantastic with Nate. I got unbeliveably lucky that she has never once been nasty or resentful towards him. She sings to him, reads to him, wants to hold him and change him.

Ooohhhh where do I start? There are way too many things I love about my children to list here but I'll put a few down.....

Brianna:
* I love that she's such a good girl. I can take her absolutely ANYWHERE & where ever we are people are always telling me what a good girl she is & I always agree of course!! (She always has been!)
* I love that she's so affectionate. One of my favourite ways she expresses her love is when she carresses my cheek & says "You're my Angel Mummy" (She did learn that from me though, as she's grown up I stroke her cheek occassionally & say "You're my Angel" but its still so nice coming from her)
* I love that she's beyond her years. People always think she's at least a year older than she is since she was about 2.5yrs. Her daycare even almost put her in preschool class a year early because she's so advanced, I had to remind them how old she was (& they had me second guessing her age for a min!) then they checked her paperwork & apologised explaining why they got confused with her being at preschool level so early! (Yes I did get a very big head when they told me this!)
* I love that she's so unbelievably beautiful (I know all mummys little girls are the most beautiful haha)
*I love that she lets Tobias pull her hair etc & when I say to Tobias "Gentle, gentle" She replies "He's ok mummy, I'm alright" Then smile & continues playing very nicely, patiently & gently with Tobias. Although they do love to rumble at times too hehe
* I love that after I feed Tobias sometimes in the morning I go back to bed (yes I'm lazy haha) & when I wake up I go out to the lounge room & Briannas out there eating the cereal from the box, got herself a drink & turned on the telly. She lets me sleep!! I never even asked her to do it.... so sweet & considerate.
* I love that she's so fantastic with Tobias & is constantly asking to nurse him & helping me in general with him. She also always tells him how much she loves him awwwwwww

Tobias:
* I love that he's already so damn cheeky!!!
* I love that he's such a contented & placid baby. People are always saying how placid he is when he's passed around to family & friends.
* I love that he'll settle & sleep in his stroller when we're out to dinner, even with loud talking & laughing (EVEN with my SIL's loud voice/laugh right next to him!!)
* I love that he has the same sleep pattern at night as Brianna had with last bottle at around 6pm then up around 7am (Yes I know I'm VERY spoilt!)
* I love that he's so incredibly handsome & his little "bum chin" (dymple) is sooooooo cute!!!! (Yes another one that all mummys have with their son being the cutest hehe)

I'm so proud & so very in love with my 2 beautiful children!!

PS I love reading all the other mums replies, its so lovely that we all feel the same about our kidlets & all love to brag about them!

Ethan (9) I love his cleverness and the fact he loves to read and learn

Isaac (5) As gross as it is I love his potty humour. He is just a crack up

Jacob (3) His stubborness. It is so frustrating at times but he toilet trained himself, taught himself how to ride a bike without training wheels. He is very much our Mr Independant

Olivia (18 months) I love how she walks up to me or her dad and says Mummy/Daddy, Lub you. Her chattiness

Theres a good chance she'll stay that way. Brianna has been like it since birth, we even had a friend call her a freak when she was a few months old (& our friends baby was 2 weeks older than DD) we all went out to dinner at a spanish restaurant with loud spanish dancing etc & Brianna slept through the whole night while her friend needed to be held the whole night & was crying most of it. My friends couldn't believe it & told me they were very jealous. I felt a bit bad & a bit embarrassed that Brianna was so "easy" LOL (I am in no way saying Brianna is "better" than other babies that dont sleep/settle like her, I'm just giving an example of how I've been able to take her anywhere since she was born). This has happened pretty much every time we have gone out, dont get me wrong there have been a handful of times when she had a few probs settling due to one reason or another but overall so well behaved!
I hope B stays that way for you too.... its wonderful!

I love how smart DD is. When the electricity man came to read the meter she fetched him my measuring tape (and the first electricity meters WERE basically measuring tapes!), she was only 30 months! The other day she brought a football with a frisbee wedged on it in from the garden and said "look Mama! Saturn!". On the morning of her 3rd birthday she got in bed with us and i said "DD you're 3, how does it feel?" and she said "Good mama." then after a pause she put her hand on mine and said with deep concern and regret "oh, mama, you're TWENTY-EIGHT". When the health visitor was here and telling me i had to put DD in nursery because i couldn't possibly provide a rich enough learning environment for her, DD came wandering past the sofa with a kids numbers leaflet the HV had just brought her, reading "fifty-five, fifty-six, fifty-seven".

She puts things in the most random places, but she always remembers where. I will say "DD where is the breadmaker's scoop?" and she replies "in the cereal cupboard" as if "duh mama, of COURSE!". LOL! She is in and out of the fridge all the time and asks to make and eat the craziest things. She loves her food, a lady on the bus asked her what her favourite dinner was last week ans she replied "thai curry".

We have whole conversations sung in an opera stylee. There is nothing funnier than her vibrato-ing "mama! I need a wee-wee!" in the supermarket. I am LOLing just thinking about it! Also the other day she did a poo in her potty and came steaming down the stairs shouting "mama! I did a caca seven!" - it did look just like a 7! lol.

She's says "sorry" with grace and "i love you" with ease. We're really close and have such fun together, and yes, i am super glad and proud that as a SAHM who was single from when she was 2 months to when she was 29months, she is almost all my own work She makes me glad every day for the choices i have made WRT her upbringing and my life.

I was just telling dh how proud I am of ds at playgroup- he's so easygoing, happy to share, never pushes other kids out of the way and will happily hand things over if others want to play with it. he seems ot think he's one of the big kids and runs around with them, and takes all the rough and tumble that copmes with it without complaint. He is Tonka tough

He's funny and so cheeky and naughty sometimes, it cracks me up. He is affectionate and loving. He's social and people always comment on howhappy and chatty he is.

I just love him to bits

I love how Samuel thinks he knows everything and the stuff that comes out his mouth is so innocent and funny.
I love that he thinks everything costs $60 dollars. or 40 months lol.
I love that Samuel loves Rock music and can turn anything into a air guitar.
I love how smart and imaginative he is, i could listen to him playing for hours.
I love how he is so caring and genuine.
I love looking into his eyes and i love that when he sleeps in the bed with us he has to be touching both of us and he snores so cutely.

OLIVER
I love Oliver's i want my mummy cry. Its so cute.
I love Oliver's permanent mo hawk, he's just too cool.
I love his smell and how much of a good sleeper he is.
I love when he stretches and sticks his bottom out when i burp him.
