7 month old sleeping on his stomach

My DS is an expert roller now and he often will roll over onto his tummy - head to the side.
Hubby thinks it is still dangerous.

My DS1 used to do the same. I would put him in on his back and he would roll to his stomach. I was really worried about it but there was not much I could do unless I sat there all night and watched him. Sorry I have no solutions on how to stop him from doing it but just wanted to say that DS did it from about 6 months and he was fine. We had absolutely nothing else in the cot with him. No pillow etc. I think now it is starting to warm up it is safer as well because they don't have the blankets. Maybe someone has some solutions. I know some people use the anti-roll pillows on little bubs but I'm not sure about 7 months.

Once they can roll by themselves it is fine (which is just as well because you can't do much about it!). The greatest risk of SIDS is in the first 6 months. Even before then, if they can roll over by themselves, it is not really an issue if they are on their tummy. It's only when they are newborns and unable to roll by themselves.

My MCHN advised me that the real danger with tummy sleeping is that they can overheat more easily than they do on their back's. So as long as they aren't overly dressed it shouldn't be an issue.

when DD could roll on and off her belly. i couldnt stop her from belly sleeping.!

And if you use an anti roll pillow - it can prevent them from getting off their bellies if they manage to roll on it!

i found the best nights sleep started when she sleep prone!!
