Not sure babe, but ring the nurse on call (not sure the number as I'm not in Vic) but they should be able to tell you if it's something to worry about and if you should take her to the Dr.
ive just fed millie and when i burped her she possetted which is normal but it was brownlike old blood brown, looked like she had eaten chocolate (which obviously she hasnt ). what could it be?? she seems fine, im a little shocked and of course worried. i expressed the side she fed to make sure the blood wasnt from me and it wasnt.

This happened to a woman in my mothers group, but her little one was much younger. They took her to emergency, but the tests came back fine. They still don't know what it was from. From memory, the doctors were worried about a bowel obstruction.
I would ring nurse on call 1300 60 60 24 or take her to a dr. GL hun...it pays to be vigilent, even if its nothing!

Has she been scking her thumb? Does she have long nails? Miss J did that last week and I found that she had scratched the inside of her mouth with her thumb nail and had sucked down her own blood. Yuk!
just on hold to nurse on call. nai that was my first thought, i checked her mouth but couldnt see anythingits probably nothing....
Hope it all turns out to be nothing love xoxo
hope shes ok hun xx
hi hun,
I was going to say the same thing as Nai, coz i know lewis is constantly scratching his face at this age.
Has she done anymore or was it only after her feed?
hope she is ok
It is most likely blood. I remember this happening to a friend of mine at my brother's wedding and my dad (a doctor) told her to go to the hospital (was the weekend) to get it checked.
It is most likely nothing at all. The blood could be coming from your breast. Do you have a grazed nipple? Even from within the breast tissue. Sometiimes we can have small burst blood vessels in our breasts.
it could also be that your bub has a small scratch or something inside her mouth.
But it's best to check. She's still pretty young.
All the Best, i hope it's nothing.
Sasa
still on hold..
no more since feed D..
sasa i dont have grazes etc...i expressed some and no blood.
If it was a burst blood vessel, it could be that there wasn't a whole lot of blood in there and your DD got it all out, and that's why there was none when you expressed.
Geez, they keep you on hold forever!
Sasa
what did they say?
was on hold for 30 mins!! -swine flu panic in melbourne!!
nurse told me to take her to the hospital, then rang my GP who advised me to wait and see if it happens again and if it does to take her to see him first! happy with that!
so fingers crossed its a once off!
Glad you've got a good GP that you can get advice from.
Go with your instincts and just see if it happes again.
I've been thinking of you all morning
Big hug for you & millie
thanks hun!!
Oh my AJP,
that must have been so scary for you, my heart was racing just reading all of this if it was me i would put the spewy item in a container in the fridge incase needed for tests. I hope this was a once off for you how are you and bubs now???![]()
