Carrier for big baby?

I'd be concerned that the ergo wouldn't last for very long because its quite short in the body - and thats the reason i don't have one (since we both have tall kids,I know what you are going through!!)

The best ones I have found for tall kids would be something like the baby hawk, and he should be able to spread his legs around you in a few more weeks - so i would hang in there if I were you. I wear Sahti with her legs spread, and she's smaller than he is, I just make sure her knees are higher than her butt, and sort of scrunch the material around the legs a bit more so its giving more support.

Of course, I don't have a baby hawk (hehe) I have beetlebums, but they are basically the same thing. Do you have the Oh Snap or the mei tai babyhawk?

Yeah the prob at the min is he is to big to put his legs in the "frog" position but his lil legs are not quite long enough (well they are bl00dy long) to go around my gut! Hmmm maybe if I scrunch the material in the middle abit that would help...

Um I have the BH that ties around my waist and then the straps cross over my back and tie at front or back..... I bought it off Mrs B26 - its awesome!!

He has been having some reflux / wind issues and I thought when he has them that keeping him upright might ease the issues....

Ok so you have the mei tai. To be honest, I'd keep trying him in it, cos they are usually good from 4 months in that position. Try cupping under his bum after you put him in with your hands and rearranging his legs a bit.

The ergo is a great carrier, but if you want something for the long haul, one with a higher back is good.

Another good mei tai is a silly goose one - not sure if she still makes them, but they have an adjustable bit down the bottom that you cinch in for small babies.

you can scrunch the bottom together a bit with a piece of ribbon or something to pull it in a tad so it sits between his legs a bit better, just for a few weeks until his legs are that bit longer....the Catbirdbaby pikkolo has a cinching mechanism to achieve this but it is easy to do on oter carriers with just something to tie it up......does that make sense?
