    changing boys nappies....im hopeless...need advice!!!

Okay, after 3 girls, im kinda used to changing bums.....but not little boys bums. H wets himself (up the back at 2am this morn!!!) at least twice a day.....
I do what people KEEP telling me - doodle down. I do that...so much so that he pees up his back !!!!
WHat am i doing wrong.....or is it him??? or will i eventually just 'get it '.......

we had the same issue with DS, even if we pointed it down he would wet through & we would be changing sometimes 2x a night...grrrr. The only thing we found that made a difference was to go up a nappy size.....have you tried that?

Same thing happened here mbear, he'd wee all up his back.

I agree with Erin - he was quite a big bub from memory, if you're still using nb sized nappies, I'd try the next size up.

Yep, try the next size up. It's so annoying when you have to change all the bed sheets and things too!

Has he got a skinny back? I'm not sure if it's a boy thing as much as the nappy may be gaping a bit IYKWIM. I have had leaking out the back with all of my newborns and the only way around it if using sposies is to use a cover to help it stay closer to the skin and sleep bub on a towel jic.
If you're doing cloth you can get creative with the folding or use an extra booster.

Yeah DS leaked up the back when he was a newborn, even though his doodle was down. But he has a skinny waist and skinny legs so I had to make sure the nappy was on tight and the frills pulled out around the legs. It only completely stopped when we went up from the newborn size nappies to the crawlers.

pull them really tight around the waist at night time and around the legs, and make sure you pull the frilly bits out around the legs. Hopefully that will work

Otherwise go up a size. Very common problem with boys it would seem

Liebling did this sometimes with sposies, but not cloth.

Can you take the unopened pack back to the shop and exchange? Or do you know any other mum who would need it?

still use them during the day, perhaps just get the nex size up for the night & see how that goes. DS was out of nb in like a week or two....it happened so quick it that's why I didn't first realise. Then I remember the MCHN saying something & what do you know!!! And not a moment too soon, I recall one night he wet through so much my Dad was washing clohes for me LOL!!
