    Childrens likes/ obsessions?

Isaac is OBSESSED with vacuum cleaners. Everytime we walk past one- at home or at the shops, everytime an add comes on TV, everytime he hears one he HAS to look at it, gets all excited and wont stop talking about it for ages. ("argonkeener")

He was glued to the steam mop infomercial before because it has a vacuum cleaner on it.

He also likes fans ("nan!")- ceiling and pedestal, he points them out everywhere we go, same with lights ("niiiight") and the switches.

The washing machine and the computer are fascinating too apparently.

What odd (or not odd) things are favourites with your little ones?

my DS (nearly 2) is interested in the usual boy things - garbage trucks, busses and trains.

He went through a baby stage last week (it has been on/off for some time, as we are expecting).... hope he likes the real thing!!!

Aw I love how he says 'argonkeener', soo cute!

Moo is totally obsessed with trucks ('TAA!") as well as lights & door knockers. He has fav ads that he'll run in to watch too, I always feel sorry for him when I know he's not going to make it I think the mozzie repellant one is his fav at the moment where it has the mozzie buzzing around that lady.

Tanaya- love seeing little boys enjoying babies. Very sweet.

Isaac loves the usual cars, trucks, motorbikes too. Not buses though. Funny kid.

Oh yes, shoes! He likes them too. Though not as much as Freya. Lol Sounds very cute.

Opening and closing doors, whether they are big doors, cupboards, anything. Drives me batty!

Here's hoping that Isaac's obsession with the vaccuum cleaner will mean he will clean your house until he moves out.

    DS1's was trains.

DS2 loved loved loved brooms, vacuum cleaners, and cleaning. Unfortunately at the age of five that obsession hasn't kept up with the mess he creates...

    DS2 loves babies too.

    boobs. mainly mine -.-;
he also has an iphone obsession... so much so that i bought him one from woolies (a toy one) so he'd stop having the tanties when I took mine off him after he sneaks it! thankfully it has diverted the fascination from mine! (Luckily because it went for a dip in the pool yesterday)

Ooohh, mines obsesed with fans too. Those huge 10mt diametre ones at bunnings (on the ceilings) have him in raptures.
He also has a thing about the moon. "Moo moo moo" at anything in the sky, clouds, planes etc. I think it comes from Luna in Bear in the big blue house, he looovvves Luna.
My favorite though is Buster the dog from Toy Story, he is only in #2&3 and only for about 2 mins total, but my DS always does the biggest belly cackle when he sees him.
    So cute

He just reminded me of another one - clocks! We don't have a wall clock but he notices them in houses, shops & books without fail.

VW Kombi 's ! He can spot one a mile away!
The other day, he got all excited about helping fold the nappies! Then, when we were at a friends house a few doors up, it started to spit/drizzle rain. He was playing trains (a favourite pasttime), I said "Quick! It's raining! We have to take the nappies off the line!" He was out of her house before I was!

Green. Loves green. Must have green plate, cup, straw etc.

The other day I asked him to pack up his matchbox/hot wheels cars. I found a small pile of green ones left. Then another day, there were small piles of each colour car in different parts of the house... This is new! All the red ones were together, all the yellows together, all the blues together (you get the picture!)

ditto to most of the above

    trains - "toot toot"
    cleaning - sweeping and wiping
    birds
    shoes
    water
wearing his hat and noticing other people's hats, including motorbike helmets
    clocks
    telephones

the main one different to those already mentioned is lawn mowers. He got a plastic talking/singing one at Christmas and ever since then he's been a bit obsessed to the point that he will watch them on the bowling green rather than play in the park

ETA - with the hat thing, he always makes sure to tell other people they are wearing a hat or a helmet

not so much a 'thing' but something DD does, and ive wondered for ages if other kids do it....would love to know....If she has a fav book or show or just something she thinks up, we all have to be a character and have to call each other the names etc..... for example, Bob the builder, which she currently loves, She is Bob, Im Wendy and DH is Scrambler and if we accidently use normaly names she will say ''im not ..... im Bob'' or she is Leo Lion, Im Tracy Tiger and DH is Mick the Monkey.

If we are out and someone asks her name she will often give her 'pretend name' i.e 'Im Bob'.....which gets a few funny looks!!!!

DD1 has a thing for airplanes, the airport, motorbikes, shoes and bags.
She has more shoes than i do and chooses her own, she can spot an airplane from miles away and is hell bent on spending as much time as possible on our motorbikes.

Outside of those slightly boyish but normal things DD1 has an issue with bottle tops, if she finds a bottle with no lid she gets frustrated and HAS to find the lid, she also does this if she finds a lid with no bottle.
She has an issue at times with closing doors, if she walks through an outside door she MUST close it or make sure someone else does... i swear she borders on OCD at times.

DD2 is shoes, the minute she spots them she wants them on and she will continually repeat SHOES until she gets them. Oh and apples.
