Definitely a good idea to start cleaning any teeth as soon as they come through.

Using a face washer is fine, or some other soft cloth, but if you prefer you can get started straight away with an infant brush. Definitely don't need toothpaste at this age. Whatever you use, or however old your child is, make it a fun time so that they (hopefully!) become obsessed with it like Oscar LOL! And you should be at least 'helping' your child brush (ie you brush first, then them or vice versa) until the age of 7 or 8, they just won't do a good enough job before that! We can definitely tell the difference between those kids who have help, and those who don't.

If you live in an area with fluoridated water, it's important to get your kids to spit. If they ingest too much fluoride it's not great for their teeth (yes there is such a thing as too much).
