I was watching Jack this morning, put his arm around Thomas and say "I love you". It made me think of how Jack seems to have instantly fallen in love with Tom from the first time they met (an hour after the birth). I think it still surprises me as I was expecting jealousy at first. You expect that you will love your baby from the minute it's born (if not before!!) but you don't (well I didn't) realise that the instinct is there for siblings too. Is it a natural instinct that he know it's his blood relative, or is it that even at 19 months he understood when we kept telling him that he was going to have a new brother or sister he would love and have to help look after? Has anyone else experienced this?
