    Baby in the shower

At what age can/have you taken your baby into the shower with you?
Dd already puts her head in the water and likes it and doesn't mind water on her face.

DS never liked the shower but a friend has taken her children into the shower from really young, her DS as a newborn.

For some reason, it never crossed my mind to take DS in the shower until one day, when DS was about 4 months old, a girl from Mothers' Group was talking about her DS having showers. She said they had showered with him pretty much from birth. That night I went home and put DS in the shower with DP and we've never looked back.

We took our Dss in pretty much from birth. DS2 particularly loves it now.

From birth with mine. They loved it. My back wasnt great with the bath, so we gave it a go and it was divine seeing our tiny bubbas fall asleep on our shoulders and licking up drops of water hehe. Gave up on the bath and never looked back.

DD1 hated the shower so i only ever did it twice with her (once when she was 2 weeks and another at 12 weeks!) - DD2 on the on the other hand was a screamy/colicky/refluxy baby and LOVED the shower - i started with them when she was 2 weeks old and pretty much lived in there as it was the only place where she didn't cry endlessly

I don't have my own yet... But I was 18 when my littlest brother was born and I absolutely used to LOVE it when mum brought him into the shower as a newborn and asked me tto wash him while I was there. It was a beautiful feeling.

It is easier to have someone to hand bub to you and take him/her off you before you get out though..... Bit of a juggle trying to do that by yourself!!

Totally agree myturn, its a two person job! They feel so slippery at first too so good to have an extra pair of hands as back-up. But it just feels so good A tip my nanna told me if I was worried about bubs slipping was to use a cloth nappy for gripping their bum and back. Never tried it but a good idea if youre a bit nervous.

I'm not sure of the exact age, but the Man took DD into the shower when she was *very* little (I was always too afraid I might drop her). She enjoyed it.

From 2 days old, we were in the hospital hotel outreach program and midwife told dh to hop in shower with dd and get some daddy / daughter bonding time

I can't remember with ds but I took dd in with me last week at 3.5months. She loved it and so did ds (he alternates between the bath and the shower) however old he was.

I agree that it's much easier with 2 people there though.

we've done it since birth, and my 2yo still showers with me every couple of days.

and it's a lot easier on your tummy, than getting in and out of the bath or lugging water post c/s.

    it's lovely
