Constant Sneezing? Does your baby do this

OUr little girl is 6 days old but is seeming to sneeze a lot. Does this mean that she has a cold or could be getting one? She seems okay otherwise, in terms of feeding, but some of our visitors whilst we were in the hospital were trying to hide the fact that the had coughs / colds.

Am I being a paranoid first time mum? Seems everything is geared towards the birth & nothing for hte afterwards

Moglie, our little girl did exactly the same thing.. I think i was told it is because they are getting used to breathing and using their nose etc.

Mogile, congratulations on your baby girl!

Both my children sneezed alot in the 1st couple days.. the nurses told me it was the baby clearing mucous out from the birth..

like when you sneez it not always because you havea cold, its your bodys was of clearing congestion etc. however if you are worried and think she could be geeting sick please take her to the DR..

My midwives told me DD would sneeze alot for a week or two while she cleared everything out of her sinuses and also while her little nostrils got used to being dry on the inside (a lot more tickly having air when one's used to amniotic fluid apparently). If bubs seems otherwise unwell or you're feeling worried then speak to your doctor.

Our little one sneezes alot. and always in 3 at a time! lol
I dont think there has been a day when she hasnt sneezed. But her sinuses are clear and not runny or dried up so not worried.

Princessmya - i was going to say the same thing - always in threes
but, yep, Aiden has sneezed from day one, and doesnt seem to be sick at all. I have a cold, and he has not caught it, so, dont stress out to much.

Thanks everyone, I feel a lot better about it. I thought maybe it was a sign she could be getting a cold. Thank you, I feel more reassured.
