K used to do this, as well as jump on the lounge, when he first learnt how to climb up there. We haven't always been quick enough to catch him at it and he's tumbled head first over the back of it (thankfully we have carpet!) and had a few nasty bumps to the head when he's bounced off the lounge and connected with the coffee table on the way down. It hurt & scared him quite a lot but it certainly didn't teach him not to do it again LOL! We've always been pretty strict about not letting him jump off the lounge and we let K know that it wasn't acceptable behaviour with the usual 'uh-uh' and 'no' etc. Also I made it clear that if he couldn't sit properly then he had to get off the lounge and he wasn't allowed back on it for a certain amount of time. It took quite some time and persistence but now when I see him stand up there and he starts to climb onto the back or bounce I ask him to sit down properly and he usually does so. If I see him sitting there properly then I make a bit of a fuss and tell him how great it is that he's sitting on the lounge properly![]()
