Schmickers, I am currently taking Dimetapp mixed with codeine. Dimetapp is just an over the counter cough medicated syrup, but because it's mixed with codeine, my doctor and lactation consultant both agreed that codeine has a bad effect on the newborn. I am also taking a 5 days antibiotics (Azithromycin 250mg/day from day 2 to day 5 ; and 500mg on the first day)
