Izzy has been getting cradle cap too- shes nearly 10 weeks. There is a thread around somewhere and the verdict basically was, olive oil or baby oil and washed off in the bath with a mild shampoo, bicarb soda and water in a paste although you need to be careful not to leave it on too long, or there is stuff called moogoo infant scalp care that you can buy (google it). (Will see if I can find the thread for you!)
Ive decided to let nature takes its course as it isnt too bad, even when I did use oil etc it would just come straight back anyway. She also gets it in her eyebrows and generally has dry skin on her face so I use a baby moisturiser on her face which has cleared that up - I kind of run it through her scalp too!

I have been using baby oil for Claires cradle cap - just the Johnsons one and applying it with a cotton ball. It makes hers clear up pretty quickly, although she just has it on the top of her head not near her eyebrows.
Ooooh Caro - thanks for that - I must have missed that in your thread and I have a huge tube here that I dont use because I use aromababy on her bot!! Might try it too!
Ah thanks caro yes i do have some.. ill give that a try - what about on the eyebrows do you think it would be safe to use there. its on the inner corners of his eyebrows...?????
I find the Bi carb paste works well here. But really unless cradle cap gets really thick & yuk its not big issue so try not to stress over it too much.
Meegm, I don't think there is anything that you are doing or not doing that makes it come. I think it has something to do with the oil in the skin? I am probably wrong. On Steph (who is just five months), I have used the Dermaveen eczema cream on her eyebrow and behind her knee, and the dermaveen oatmeal shampoo in her hair when I wash her hair. I have only used it a couple of times and have found it to be really good. I got the shampoo as a sample from our chemist, so maybe you could try at yours for a sample of the cream?
Last week I spoke to the paed about the red on Steph's eyebrow (cos it doesn't look like cradle cap or eczema), and he just said its cradle cap/infantile eczema, perfectly normal, not to worry about, unless it gets really red, all that kind of thing.
