Trish, how much bi-carb in the bath?? Elijah has dry yucky skin under his chin/neck and dermaveen isn't doing a thing and neither has pawpaw ointment or amolin. He has some cradle cap too, but I don't know how strong do I make the paste?? I have a friend who did this and it burnt her sons head so I've been afraid to try. Elijah has gorgeous hair and I don't want to burn it off.

I have no idea of the exact measurements, I used to just kind of pour some straight into the bath LOL! You could also try QV bath oil, I'm currently using it for DD and her skin is beautiful. Re: bicarb for cradle cap, I've never heard of it burning! I don't see how it could, it is sooo gentle. I used to just pour a pile (around a tablespoon or two?) into my hand, then add a tiny amount of water at a time until it became a paste that could be lathered onto his head. I left it on for no more than 5-10 minutes and then rinsed it off. I'm sure it will be safe for your DS if my MCHN recommended it

Maybe she used what she thought was bi-carb... she's scottish so could've thought it was different who knows. I might give it a go, it's not as bad as it was. We do use only QV oil in his bath but he still has the under chin/neck thing which is getting worse ... gets it behind his knees too and his wrist roll but only on one side lol. I have about 3 boxes of it so might give it a go! Thanks

This normally happens when the skin is not dried properly and moisture gets trapped in the folds.

Make sure you really try to dry the areas thoroughly and during the day watch for milk getting trapped in his neck creases as that causes it to go yukky as well.

Just wanted to let you know that I have been using the bicarb paste on DD's head the past 2 nights! Heaps has come off but not all of it. Maybe I am not leaving it on for long enough. I will do again tonight and see how that goes. Her Hair looks so much nicer now though!

Thanks again for the great suggestion Trish!

Yay, I'm glad you're seeing improvement too AliBaby! From memory it took a few goes for it to work for DS1 as well, but it got a bit better every time I did it.

I'm going to start on DD today, I've noticed she's now getting CC too. Not one of my kids has skipped having it .

Ali, DH does his bath but I've told him to make sure it's dried properly. Says it is and it's not a wet rash it's actually kinda dry... but yes I do wipe it during the day if it gets wet during the day.

As for the cradle cap Trish... I mentioned to DH about trying the bi-carb... he then tells me it's been a while since he did the QV oil on his head. We were doing it and massaging his head in the bath (which he adores and his little eyes roll back lol) - anyway, he did it and yesterday morning Oskar brushed it for him (wanted to help me lol) and it has come away sooooooooooooooo much. So, I didn't need to try the bi-carb as the QV has been great again.
