    Normal? A few questions...

I feel kinda silly asking, seeing how Tristan is my second child.... but Brendan spent the first 6 weeks in hospital so I missed a lot of the 'newborn' things.

Tristan is now 10 days old.... has been home for 2 days. He's fully Breastfed.

1st question, about poop... He's doing the yellow poop, but it's still curd like rather than a paste, also theres lots of water(clear fluid) coming out with it, is that normal? And when does it change to the pasty yellow poop?

2nd question, Umbilical Cord.. When does it fall off? Brendan didn't have the little bit left because he had wires into his umbilicus for a few days after birth.

    Thanks

Everything is normal even the poo. Don't you love this stage!!!!
The poo will settle down soon but you will still get the pooexplosions that are just that, explosions.
If your are still concerned ring your MCHC and talk to her or ask to see her.
You can also ring the hospital where you had Tristan for reassurance and NEVER feel embarrassed about enquiring about your child/rens health.
The umbilical cord should fall off any day some take longer than others to fall off the it's usually within 2 weeks.

Yup. If you can get the Haynes Baby Manual do so - it has pics of all the different types of poo and reassures you that they're all normal.

    Sounds normal to me also

Not saying it will be like that, BUT dd had that yellow/green runny poos till she began drinking cow's milk at 18 months ...

I (trying really hard, someone correct me if I'm wrong) the only times you really have to worry about bf baby poo is when it's foamy, smells terrible (not ewww, but EWWWW yuck, kwim??) or if there are blood in it and your nipples are not bleeding.

    ENJOY him!!!

Foamy green can mean a temporary lactose intolerance, like if he's had diarrhoea or too much foremilk (or too fast flow), but if it's just green it's cool.
It's fun learning this stuff, hey?

DD's umbilical cord fell off at 10 days- I only remember because it happened on Christmas Day!

There can be a few reasons for it too. If your milk changes or you get a faster flow, huge let down it can cause more gas in bubs sometimes. You could try expressing to get let down and then feed, sometimes that helps heaps.

Food intolerances run in the family, so you could be seeing some food intolerances at this age. Is there anything that you know spot on is an intolerance in your family? If so, try avoiding that food for a week or two and see what happens.

    Thanks

Got no issue with let-down... it's coming before he's on there

And no intolerances/allergies anything with either side of the family
