Do you use suncream on your bub?

Just wondering whats the done thing here?? Obviously I dont take bubs out in the sun really at all, but just wondering if any of you use suncream for incidental exposures such as from when walking to and from the car, or getting in the car etc - e.g sometimes when strapping bubs into the car seat, it can take 3-4 minutes and when the car door is open and the sun is very strong like it has been lately where I live, I wonder whether bubs should have some suncream on during the day??

i took the attitude that my baby could get sun, thru the car window, whilst being driven in the car. I bought organic baby sunscreen (avado at priceline for example, wotnot i got at organic baby shop, another brand i got at a chemist that had a good selection of organic brands, ). At least my bub tolerated sunhat and baby sunnies, some kids will just rip them off. I love the sunhats with the straps you can do up.

Now my child is four, SHE asks me for sunscreen and hat, when i forget, i'm glad she's in the habit. (she has very fair skin).

Not sure how old your bub is... when Pie was very little I used to cover her with a light sheet or wrap if we were walking from car to shop, for example. Now that she's a bit older I don't worry so much about a few minutes. But definitely sunscreen if we're going to be out in the sun for a bit, she's very fair & it doesn't take much to burn.

I do use sunscreen on both my girls but they are now 1 and 2... when they were younger I would use a wrap as Fleur mentioned to provide coverage for small trips but once they started spending more time outside I made it a routine that sunscreen and a hat were put on before we leave the house, now if I say we are going out one of the girls will go and get the sunscreen without me asking.
