I'm trying to get DS to lose the sleeping bag at the moment and the warm weather is helping!
How did everyone else drop the sleeping bag habit? I'm worried that when the weather cools down again, he'll want it back on. And they're beginning to get too tight!
we dropped the bag when she moved into the big bed so I dont have any helpful advice sorry
could the bag maybe have an accident or get lost?
DD hasnt asked for it once which surprised me
That's ok - maybe we need to make another change too. We have an ikea cot which can convert to a toddler bed. All we've done so far is to remove one side of the cot. We could take off the other side and make the ends shorter and then it'll be the toddler bed. Perhaps we can do that in conjunction to dropping the bag Hmm... that might work!
I know my sister moved my nephew into his new toddler bed first and kept using the bag. It only took a couple of mornings of trying to walk init before he happily ditched it
If you can get away with getting rid of it now while the weather is warm, he'll most likely have forgotten all about it by the time it cools down again . I had a special jumper just for bedtime for both my boys once they outgrew their sleeping bags so they stayed warm overnight.
Are you using a sheet to cover him? To transition my DD I used a sheet while she was still in the sleeping bag and then the day I stopped using the bag I put blankets in her cot over the sheet (it was cooler weather at the time) and I found she was fine with the transition because she got used to being covered with the sheet. HTH
It's not easy is it. My DD2 was addicted to her sleeping bag but it has been way too hot to put it on her and she hates being covered by the sheet so luckily it has been warm enough that she doesn't need either. She has discovered she can move her legs all around without the bag so she kicks them around everywhere and bangs the wall. She has attached herself to one of her soft toys so I think that has helped distract her from the bag too. Our problem is now that she has discovered how to climb out of her toddler bed and she comes wandering down the hallway at bed time so I have to keep taking her back to bed. She wakes me up by stroking my elbow in the morning. That is pretty lovely actually
