Hello, DD was terribly attached to her dummy, we only let her have it for going to sleep, but she occasionally would corner another child and take theirs - LOL! In the end, we had to set up this elaborate give away scheme involving putting it out for the easter bunny one year, who happily took it to Easter land for all the baby bunnies, and left a special present for Big Girl DD.

My eldest son now 12 was 5 years old before I could get him off the dummy totally...weaned him down to just bedtimes at first,but it was a nightmare the same as some of you guys to getting up during the night to give him it when he has dropped it.I vowed never to use a dummy again.
My 2 year old who is 3 this month never had a dummy,she didnt need it.But my newborn hasnt been very well and he wanted dribs and drabs of milk and after half hour wanted more.I figured out after that he just wanted comfort and not the actual milk,he wanted to just suck the teat.So I had to get him a dummy today but didnt really want to start him on it....BUT it worked and he is so content.But I dont want him getting too addicted and I dont want to have to get up during the night to give him it.
