We listened for these sounds....my hubby got really into it. Seems to be accurate...helped heaps! We never actually bought the cds, we saw her on telly and he wrote down each of the sounds (words) and what they meant. Didn't take us long to hear them and recognised them.
I was incredibly suspicious of it when I first heard of it and I found that with my first child I didn't need anything like it as she was pretty straight forward to look after.
DD2 was a whole different story with wind issues and a much more challenging tired signs.
I found the DVD at the local library and decided to give it a go. I was really pleasantly surprised at how much sense it made - plus, it worked a treat! I was able to recognise really quickly when DD2 was needing to burp, hungry, or just needing to get a fart out without having to waste time. It did make caring for her much easier in those early months.
We found it really helpful, mostly with the different wind cries as we had big wind issues going on for awhile there. I will admit that I'm not sure if I would have forked out the $ for it, we borrowed it from my sister! It helped us alot, but you will find people say you will tune in to your baby anyways, with or without dunstan. I'm sure this is true too, but what's the harm in watching it and taking from it what you like? It helped us as overtired frazzled first time parents.
We found it really helpful too. I didn't buy the DVDs, just read the info on the website. DD had a lot of reflux and wind issues and her tired signs weren't obvious so it was helpful to know what sounds to listen for until we got to know each other better.
