We gave DS one last year for Xmas when he was 14 months. It freaked him out and he was very rough with it. It has spent all year on the shelf and even now DS will knock it over or grab it by the neck. Its also quite heavy for a young toddler to carry.

I think it is more suitable for kids 4 - 5 years who will get the jokes and are a bit more coordinated with their motor skills.

I'd recommend getting a normal stuffed Elmo instead.

Hol, georgia has had elmo live for a couple of months she is in awe of him, loves him, I will turn him on for her and she gets right up in his face and smiles at him, giggles etc. She saw him at a friends and loved him so we got her one.
