entertaining a 18month old in hospital

Hi all...

My nephew, who is just short of 18 months, is in the RCH melb, and has been since monday, and by the looks of it will still be there for a while....

he is a active little guy, and having a feeding tube and drip they need to keep him as calm and preferable seated as possible hmmmm right!

so im looking for ideas to make him a "entertainment box" to take in to him.

So far ive got:

animals/dinosaurs
crayons/ colouring book
matchbox cars
some books

any creative, cheap and interesting ideas?
