Did you get her completely checked out at the hospital? I would have been beside myself! My dd1 fell from a height when she was younger and it was very scary but she was old enough to tell me how she felt. She is fine, don't know how she didn't break anything though.

Wow, that's horrible. Can you turn your worry into something productive? i.e. how did it happen and what extra baby-proofing needs to be done at Grandma's to stop it happening again? Was there a supervision issue or just 'one of those things'? Babies and children are remarkably resilient. She WILL be OK. You are OK. Everything is OK.

grandma put her down in the sunroom while she went into another room. Grandma said she will always put her in the portacot when upstairs now.

Bern I'm so sorry this has happened to your daughter.

My 4 year old son fractured his femur about 5 months ago, playing with boys kicking the footy and someone simply fell across his legs. I'm not sure what they have done for your daughter (maybe hip spica cast) my son is quite big so he had surgery and flexible wiring placed inside his bone. He was in a wheelchair for about 8 weeks. His recovery once he was able to start weight baring has been really good. Obvioulsy you little one is a lot younger but I'm sure she will still make a good recovery. I have had a lot of physio for my son, you may find that will be required for your daughter once the bone has fully fused.

My thoughts go out to you it is a horrible horrible injury for a child let alone a baby to sustain. I'm sure her Grandma must be feeling horrible.

they are leaving it for a week, the type of fracture it is they are hoping it will heal itself. We have an xray on monday and then if its not healing we go into a hip spica. My 5 year old has hip dysplasia so ive been done the spica road before. My baby was already crawling a little bit this morning so fingers crossed she willheal herself. I am feeling ok, just a had a bit of a breakdown before.
