    super mum ZF!

Is Miss A old enough to use scissors? Could make snowflakes (fold a circle of paper in half then in half again and make little cuts out of the folded side). If she can't use scissors you could do that bit, then they could just decorate them with glitter/paint etc. Tie a length of string onto one side and you can hang them up. Maybe more of a christmas/winter project though!
    Finger painting or potato painting?

She likes to 'TRY' and use scissors, might go out and buy her the kiddie ones that only cut paper.. she's 2 going on 10 and thinks she can do all these things on her own.. although she does do a pretty good job.

Ohhhh Potato painting... see ladies THIS is why i come on here... for my sanity.
We made DP a 'replica' of his ute the other night, out of an egg carton and bottle tops.
DD also made his work ladder out of pipe cleaners, his numberplate and a toolbox was so cute.

We're really getting into the craft stuff more now that DD has turned two!! It's lots of mess but FUN!

I had a very 'crafty' day on Tues this week - first we did some colouring with crayons and pencils, then later on the paints came out and we painted with the easel and paints AND then in the afternoon the craft bits and pieces came out and we got glue everywhere and DD made something for DH when he arrived home! Very cute.

    Did some playdough today.....

Been on the websites you've suggested - some good ideas!

What's potato painting?? off to google LOL

Man i dont know why this thread never shows up in my subscription!!

anyway, our local spotlight store is having a closing down sale. They have bags of junk for $5. I bought soo man bags, LOL sure is junk but so worth it. Theres lots of ribbons, paint, paint brushes, buttons, nik nax, but its pick of the drawer.

DD now has 3 large box full of craft stuff LOL!!!!!!!!!!

and all she plays with is masking tape, paint, paper and her scissors!

We did smiley faces on paper plates the other day - DD loved that, I think she did about 5 in a sitting!

We have a local council run place called "thats not garbage" or something similar, and basically business's donate excess or scrap stuff and then you can go in and fill diff size bags, starting at like $2 upwards. Its stuff like corks, photo paper, material, plastic tubes, etc. All really good stuff.

I haven't looked on it for a while, but the playschool website I think has some good ideas. One I like is roll a piece of paper up into a tube, put some marbles into different coloured paint and then put them in the tube, put the lid on and roll the tube around. Makes some cool effects.

What about using white crayons to draw on white paper, and then paint over the top - kind of like secret messages?

Do you have any falling leaves at the moment? I remember as a kid we used to do leaf paintings, just cover the leaf in paint and press it onto paper and it leaves the cool veiny effect.

Today at playgroup we made kites (I use the word very loosely..lol) using paper bags with holes punched at one end, and some of the curly ribbon, or you could just use string, tied onto the holes. Then paint or stick stuff onto the bags with glue, and glue some streamers to the bottom.

Seems quite stable, it takes a bit to put together but i did it all on my own so can't be too hard
The wood seems fine, the girls have managed to climb up on it before and no toppling over or splits.
