    feed play feed sleep routine

hi, during the day DS likes this outine, a quick little extra feed put in before i place him in his cot. its like a comfort snack. DS is 12weeks. does anyone else do this routine. i know its not ideal, but occasionally it works and helps him settle..

Yup, we always fed when he woke up, had a play, and fed again to sleep. I say do whatever works We didnt' have a routine as such, but he always fed before and after sleep Still do!

Funny you should ask this we do this with my DD and over the last couple of days been thinking about whether I should be trying to stop this. I have no prob doing it but I think about if I'm not around will she settle down nicely for a sleep? Plus at times I feel like I am constantly getting my boobs out! Just yesterday and today have tried alternative options like trying her with a dummy or giving her a cuddle that way if I'm not there anyone can do those things, sometimes it works othertimes it doesn't it depends on how quickly I get onto het tired signs.

Yep, I do this also. And yes, shellbell, I too feel like the boobs are never in the bra long enough! Cooper (4 months old) sleeps 12 hours at night, so in the morning, I am busting at the seams! I give him a feed on both sides, then before I put him to sleep about an hour later, I always give him a top up.

I find sometimes in doing this he sleeps longer. But his average sleep is about an hour, so some days I am feeding him every 2 hours.

i dont believe in sleep training our babies, they are little mammals who should feed often. feeding them to sleep is a good thing, the way nature designed it to be...putting them awake in their cots makes little sense to me.:P

yep - we often did feed play feed sleep. As long as the play isn't too long, a feed is a really relaxing way to get them to sleep. Specially at this age.
