The 3 month mark coincided with some bad sleeping for DD - she would be awake for an hour, then have a 45 minute nap. I was feeding her when she woke, so she was feeding every 2 hours for a while!
I know there is no normal or standard timing of how often baby sleep and feeds, but just wondering what others experienced or are experiencing in regards to how often your baby sleeps and feeds for at the 3 months stage? Also, how long does baby stay awake for after a feed before he/she gets tired and put down for a sleep?

Hi Deirdre
My DD is 3.5months old & appears to have sorted out a rough pattern in the last month. She always been a good night sleeper but days weren't always great. Thankfully, she has settled into some nice day sleeping as well... (Fully expecting to jinx myself having put that in writing!)
So, generally speaking....
During the day, she is generally awake for 1.5 - 2 hrs between sleeps, sometimes a fraction longer or shorter.
She sleeps for around 1 - 1.5 hrs each time, and feeds every 4ish hours, give or take 1/2 hr.
I feed her and then DP bathes her at 6/6.30pm and we go for a long walk, where she'll have another sleep of up to an hour.
She is fed again and in bed by 9pm or just before. On a 'bad' night, I will be up twice to feed her, on a good night just once....on a great night, not at all but there's only been a few of those!
She's a late riser too, so it's rare she's up and out of her cot before 8.30am and it's usually closer to 9.30am
HTH,
AJ

Hi Deirdre,
Every time I think I have something that resembles a routine with kimberley, she normally throws it out the window.. But she has cat naps (about 40 mins, if I am lucky 90 mins) a few times a day, but while she isn't grumpy I don't force the issue. She generally eats every 4 to 4&1/2 hrs through the day and sleeps from about 7.30pm - 6.30am and often another hour after the 1st feed of the day (but she has been going to sleep slightly earlier since it is getting darker earlier).. Personally I haven't fought the sleep/eat thing with her and she is healthy and growing at a good rate.. HTH answer your question.
Hi Deirdre,
My little girl is 3 months, 2 weeks old. She has been sleeping through the night for 5 weeks now (7pm to 7am) and has only got up once for a feed in that whole time. During the day she feeds every three hours (it's like she has an alarm clock installed!).
She normally has a sleep for about an 30-45 mins after the first feed and then has a sleep for about an hour before lunch and then another sleep for about an hour mid afternoon and then stays up and plays until its bed time.
I was a bit worried at first that she wouldn't be getting enough to eat when she started sleeping right through but she's been putting on great weight and is very happy so it seems to be working for her!
All the best! Belinda.
Hi. We're just getting to 3 mnths and what had been something of a routine seems to have gone out the windowNow feeding every 2 or so hours instead of 4ish and harder to settle btwn sleep cycles... wants to be held all the time. Fighting sleep in the afternoons too. Was sleeping about 6hrs during the night now back to 3 or so
... I'm hoping it's a phase/wonder week thing and that it will get better again soon.
Hi my Daughter is just gone 15 weeks (yesterday) and sleep well.. the last 2 days just naps here and there but big blocks in the afternoon and over night..
today she had one nap this morning and has now been asleep nearly 2 hours.
As for night she usually goes down at 7-8pm wakes at 4 then back to bed at 4:30-5 till maybe 6 or 7..
My little guy is 3.5 months old. He feeds every 2-3 hours during the day and is awake for 2-3 hours between naps (sometimes longer). He'll nap anywhere from 20 minutes to 2-3 hours. At night we can't get him to bed any earlier than 10pm but then he sleeps until 4 or 5am, has a feed, then sleeps for another 3-4 hours before he wants to get up and start his day.
