Mr P is happy, alert, babbling, rolling, chewing everything he can get his hands on, interacting etc etc Sleeping okay still, although had about a week and a half of waking up between 4 and 5am for the day, but slept through last night so fingers crossed for tonight. He is feeding every two hours throughout the day and producing wet nappies, and at least one poo nappy a day.
BUT I don't think he is gaining weightWe have only done the recommended checkups, except at the start after being discharged from hospital as we needed to ensure his weight gain continued, but I don't think he would be much heavier than 5.5kg IF THAT! When I got on the scales with him at mum's a couple of weeks ago he was about 5.2kg. He is now 5months old. I have to go into town on Monday for an appointment with the social worker, so I might see if I can get him weighed, measured etc but I'm kinda worried they will tell me that we need to do formula top ups or start food
I don't want to do top ups, or go to formula, and I don't want to start food until at least next month because I don't think he is ready for it yet.
Now the reason I don't think he is gaining weight is that I was watching him when he was sleeping today, and you can see his ribs (front and back) and his little spine... I don't want to deprive him, but I'm pretty sure that he is getting a belly full every time he feeds because I let him lead when he wants to feed and when he's had enough. Surely he would be looking for more if he wasn't getting enough.
And apparently the IL's have mentioned his weight gain to DH again today
I don't know what to do and feel like a terrible mother because my baby is skin and bones![]()

. One thing you could consider though is perhaps try to give him some more feeds? Not all bubs will be screaming the house down for a feed, so maybe try to squeeze in another one or two if you can and see if that helps? Plus the weather is getting warmer now anyway, so it wont hurt to give him more fluids.

and his face has filled out too, so I know that he is fine.... I must stop listening to people who say otherwise!
