If I hadn't been in an eerily similar situation to you I might think differently, but I understand your angst.
FWIW I have never had one of those chubby babes. Both mine were/are skin and bones and always have been. They start to slow down the weight gain too. Trust you gut hun.

He was born at 39+2 weighing 3.1kg and dropped to 2.7kg by day 3...

I guess I'm worried too because he is getting more active that you see kids start to lose the baby chub, but he hasn't got any to lose ITMS

:Hug: hun we had the same thing with Mr c a couple of months ago. we ended up putting him on top ups for a few weeks but then weaned him off them when his weight gain picked up. He's still a skinny minny tho. Don't think ur milk isn't good enough or past 8 weeks it doesn't matter if u bf or gd. bf is going to be better for u n parker than ff with few exceptions. If he's happy & developing he's prob just a skinny 1 but if ur concerned I would talk to the doc about it. try not to stress over it too much lovely.

Not all bubs will be screaming the house down for a feed, so maybe try to squeeze in another one or two if you can and see if that helps? Plus the weather is getting warmer now anyway, so it wont hurt to give him more fluids.

He feeds every 2hrs from the time he is up til the time he goes to bed, I don't know if I could fit anymore feeds in. His first feed of a morning is really big as my boobs are solid and he will drain them, and he has both sides with every feed

If he is already feeding that often then he's just growing as he is meant to grow and nothing you do will change that kwim? Keep up the good work and don't listen to anyone when they tell you he is too small.

as long as he is happy n isnt lacking in anything which by what u describe he is on healthy little boy i would shrug off any other suggestions that u need to do more..
like i said my son is 4 n only 18kg but he is as healthy as can be..
listen to ur heart not the voice of others... that will always make u second guess things

Some people get way too caught up in the numbers on the scale - it is not the only (or necessarily best ) indication that your baby is growing well.

One thing my friend did was take weekly photos of her baby - the same day each week. He was also a small bub, but looking at the weekly photos and seeing him growing is amazing!!! We didn't notice him growing, getting bigger - but the photos certainly did!

We're becoming such an obese nation I think we struggle with seeing normal weights these days. My MCHN had a poster up about the risk of overfeeding children just to meet a perception of how chubby the baby should be... maybe remind your family of that next time they say something. Your son sounds like he's eating well and is happy & healthy so I'm sure he's the size he's supposed to be.
