I called Jetstar and the lady told me that they like bub's to be over 7 weeks old, BUT will allow them to fly ONLY if they have a birth certificate......
As for other airlines im not sure...
Hope that helps...

I don't believe there is any age restriction when flying with a baby. Vrigin have nothing on their website.
Probably easier to fly with a newborn as they would no doubt sleep the whole flight.
Just follow the same hints and tips that you woud with any infant....breastfeed or bottlefeed on take off and landing...have a sling or pouch as you will need to check in your pram.
I am flying tomorrow with Paige, will be interesting![]()
omg i hope you dont need a birth certificate they take ages to come back, i think i might have to give them a call. :s im screwed if cant!!!
Well i just found out lol its 7 days for qantas and 72hrs for virgin which we are flying with, but you need a dtrs certificate. Man i hate how close this is grrrrr lol.
I haven't flown with a new newborn, but I flew with Maddy at 9 weeks old. Provided you can get on the plane, you shouldn't find the experience too bad at all - especially if you breast feed as this takes care of the pressure on their ears.
Ah at least you know now!!! Goodluck with your flight![]()
If you're worried, perhaps give the airlines a call and find out if you have a very newborn, whether they would allow you to still fly (given you have a time frame that you need to fly in and you're not sure if baby will be so compliant!) if the hospital or a GP give you a medical clearance for baby to fly?
lol well im not to sure about that lol, im going to see if i can get induced on my due date or mabie a few days early hopefully they will![]()
