    A quick update:

As Georgi mentioned V has been moved to an open room yet still in ICU, and is still on a ventinlator to help with breathing. the muscle relaxant that V was on has been stopped and I am so happy to say that little V has started trying to open her eyes and is moving her self a little. We still need to see how tonight goes and with any luck V will have this ventilator removed and will have a different one added which will enable her to breathe more on her own come Monday. She will then be monitored a few more days if all goes well with that one and would then be moved to a ward. This however all depends on how well these next few days go.
It has been such a huge milestone and seeing V's little eyes and watching her moving is priceless.
Thankyou all again so much for your support as it really has meant alot. I am soooo looking forward to being able to cuddle little V, it has been so hard not being able to and feeling so helpless.

    xxoo

All the best for a speedy recovery, bronchiolitis is scary enough let alone it developing into pneumonia

What WONDERFUL news to read before going to bed!
I am SO happy for you Cheryl that V is moving on toward recovery at a nice steady pace!
I work with babies and children in V's situation all the time, and I can only imagine how hard it must be for you.
Do you know how long it will be before they let you hold her? Oh I do hope it isn't too much longer!!! I bet the minute you get your hands on her she will start to feel better too!!!

HUGS to the moon and back for all of you.

Thankyou again everyone. Here is another update on V

Unfortunately V will not be moved onto the other one tomorrow, she will need to continue being on this ventilator for anywhere upto a week or longer (maybe another 4-5days) depending on how her days go. As she is still so sick it is just really taking it day by day. Her lungs are still quite sick.
V isnt so puffy anymore and can open her eyes abit more, she has these silent cries when she looks at me (if only I could hug her), and when she sees others around her. She is very shy.. She is still highly medicated which has her sleepy which is good, she really needs to sleep. She also has her silent coughs that will mean regular suctions from her chest. Yet they also cant over do it either only if she really needs it.
However her chest xrays have been looking alot better.
I am not sure on how long it will be before I can hold her, but I really cant wait.
I have still been told that we could still have some not so good days.

This internet here is so horrible, it drives me insane, so forgive me if I cant get on to update, yet I will continue to let Georgi know how everything is going.

    Hugs

Cheryl it's good to hear that some of the puffiness is going, hopefully little V makes some more progress so that you can hold her again as it's obvious that you both need it.

Cheryl, thank you so much for the updates - I've been thinking of you both. It must be so awful not being able to hold her, but you are giving her the best possible care, and she is just such a tough little fighter!! I'm so glad to hear she's improving, and I hope she surprises all those doctors and improves even quicker than they expect.
