I've done Kindermusik and Kindergym with ds1. I personally like the kindermusik better as it had a mix of activity, music, quiet time, etc. (but I used to be a music teacher so am biased about all the fantastic benefits of music!) where I felt the gym was more just activity without the structure.

DS1 started kindermusik when he was 6 months and went for a year at which stage he started swimming lessons instead. I'm planning on doing the same thing with ds2. DS1 will go back to some sort of music lessons within the next couple of years too.

My youngest has gone to Kindermusik since she was about 6 weeks old and loves it!! She's almost 2 now. She has developed a great vocabulary, loves playing instruments and singing songs I would absolutely recommend it.

We don't have Gymboree in my town, so can't comment on that, I would've tried that as well if we had the opportunity.

I was thinking Kindermusik...lol. I still haven't had a reply back to my email though, so not feeling too confident! We are going for a free class at Gymboree on Monday, so that's a start.

    Thanks for your responses.

Kindermusik will most probably be on school holidays - I know we don't start back until the week of the 21st of July. You should be able to get a free trial class for it as well
